New York, NY (October 8, 2012) – MSG Network has announced the telecast team for its 2012-13 coverage of the New York Knicks.
Mike Breen, the league’s preeminent play-by-play announcer, will return courtside with long-time partner, Knicks analyst and NBA Hall of Famer Walt “Clyde” Frazier. MSG’s in-arena team will be rounded out by courtside reporter Tina Cervasio and feature reporter Jill Martin, who will continue to host “A New York Minute” during halftime.
MSG’s pregame and postgame studio team will consist of veteran broadcaster Al Trautwig, who will host home telecasts, and Bill Pidto who will handle host responsibilities for road games.
Alan Hahn will return for his second season as a Knicks studio analyst.
Joining Hahn in-studio as an analyst will be 10-year NBA veteran and Long Island, New York native Wally Szczerbiak, who will make his MSG debut Thursday, October 11 in the postgame show following the Knicks preseason opener versus the Washington Wizards at 7:00 p.m.
“We have a terrific team in place and we’re excited to have Wally, a Long Island, New York native and NBA veteran, join the group,” said Daniel Ronayne, executive vice president and general manager of MSG Networks.
MSG will telecast 70 games during the New York Knicks’ 2012-13 regular season, including the team’s home opener against the NBA World Champion Miami Heat from Madison Square Garden on Friday, November 2 at 8:00 p.m. MSG will tip off its Knicks preseason coverage with two new shows starting tonight at 9:00 p.m. with “Knicks Night Live,” a half-hour season preview show, and tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. (encore presentation at 9:00 p.m.) with “Knicks Training Camp Live,” a behind-the-scenes live look into Knicks training camp. Both shows will include interviews with players and coaches, as well as analysis from MSG’s studio team.
