Fresh off a 4-1 showing on UFC 104, and a two-win lead over my counterpart Jason Reynolds, I'm going with the following predictions for Strikeforce's four confirmed televised bouts on CBS Nov. 7 at 9:00 p.m. ET in Chicago, Illinois:
Fedor Emelianenko vs. Brett Rogers:
Fedor is still human (we think) and therefore must concern himself with the KO power of Rogers. However, this is just a matter of time. One mistake in Rogers' footwork with cost him dearly.
Prediction: Fedor by submission in Round 1.
Jake Shields vs. Jason Miller:
Shields' BJJ Black Belt under Cesar Gracie and impressive career have him pegged as a hefty favorite in the sports books, but Mayhem's takedown defense should enable him to keep this on the feet most of the time, where he has the advantage.
Prediction: Miller by unanimous decision.
Gegard Mousasi vs. Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou:
Not exactly going out on a limb picking a 6-1 favorite, but Mousasi is the more skilled fighter in every facet of this beautiful chess-match of a sport.
Prediction: Mousasi by KO in Round 1.
Fabricio Werdum vs. Antonio Silva:
Silva will enjoy a size and strength advantage; however, he should tire by Round 2, where Werdum's elite BJJ should take full effect.
Prediction: Werdum by submission in Round 2.
