The unsung fights on the night

Preliminary Card (SPIKE TV)

Fight: Ryan Bader vs. Eric Schafer

Winner: Bader – 3rd round KO

Why: My favorite fight of the night. Schafer's BJJ could score the upset, but there really is no escaping the thunder from Darth Bader. The TUF Season 8 winner is on the fast track.

Fight: Patrick Barry vs. Antoni Hardonk

Winner: Hardonk by unanimous decision

Why: UFC really blessed us with two gems here, as this is a great match-up of elite Kickboxers. Hardonk will enjoy a tremendous reach advantage, which will cause Barry to strongly consider dropping to LHW.

Preliminary Card (untelevised)

Fight: Yushin Okami vs. Chael Sonnen

Winner: Okami by 3rd round submission (kimura)

Why: Okami really needs an impressive victory here to get closer to a MW Title shot. Sonnen has great wrestling, but Okami's strength will allow him to dominant positioning.

Fight: Jorge Rivera vs. Rob Kimmons

Winner: Kimmons by 2nd round submission (guillotine)

Why: Rivera has the edge in completion level and experience, but Kimmons should add to his lofty career submission total.

Fight: Razak Al-Hassan vs. Kyle Kingsbury

Winner: Kingsbury by split decision

Why: Still waiting for Al-Hassan to tap to that armbar vs. Steve Cantwell. Kingsbury to grind out a close decision.

Fight: Stefan Struve vs. Chase Gormley

Winner: Struve by unanimous decision

Why: There's no shame in Struve's lone UFC loss (to explosive Junior Dos Santos); look for him to outpoint Gormley suffering from typical Octagon jitters.
