MSG Network Launches New Series With Rangers Coach

“The AV Squad” Featuring Rangers Head Coach Alain Vigneault to Debut Thursday, November 7 at 6:00 p.m.

New York, NY (November 4, 2013) – MSG Network announced today that its new original program “The AV Squad,” featuring New York Rangers head coach Alain Vigneault, will debut on Thursday, November 7 at 6:00 p.m. leading into MSG’s coverage of the Rangers-Blue Jackets game at 6:30 p.m.

Hosted by Bill Pidto, the biweekly program will feature Vigneault and other coaches and players, as they take fans on a behind-the-scenes look at the New York Rangers with special access to practice, film room sessions and in-depth player analysis.

In addition to candid conversation between Pidto and Vigneault, “The AV Squad” will include a number of running segments. In “You Asked For It,” Vigneault will answer questions from fans that were recorded at games or sent in via MSG.com and Twitter. “The Film Room” will feature Vigneault, or one of his coaches, as he breaks down film and discusses team strategy. In “Open Mic,” viewers get to listen in as a member of the coaching staff or a player is mic’ed up during a practice or game.

In this week’s episode, Vigneault talks about scoring one of his two NHL goals at Madison Square Garden, as he jokes with Pidto about his “fabulous 42 games as a pro.” Vigneault also talks about the incredible contribution of Goaltending Coach Benoit Allaire in the development of Cam Talbot and how special it was to be a part of opening night at Madison Square Garden.
