New York, NY (January 2, 2013) – MSG Network’s Knicks-Trail Blazers game telecast Tuesday night, which featured the return of Knicks’ forward Amar’e Stoudemire, registered a 5.32 Nielsen household rating, making it the highest-rated game of the 2012-13 season. The game telecast also set season-high ratings in two key demos, scoring a 3.29 rating among Adults 25-54 and a 4.87 rating among Men 25-54.
Through the first 24 Nielsen-measured games on MSG this season, Knicks telecasts are averaging a 3.52 household rating, up 74% over the first 24 measured games of the 2011-12 season (2.02 HH rating). During the same time period, MSG’s Knicks telecasts are averaging a 2.09 rating among Adults 25-54, up 118% (0.96 A25-54, 2011-12), and a 2.99 rating among Men 25-54, up 105% (1.46 M25-54, 2011-12).
MSG’s Knicks telecasts resume Thursday night when the team hosts the San Antonio Spurs at Madison Square Garden with a 7:30 p.m. tip-off. Coverage on MSG starts at 7:00 p.m. with “Visa Knicks Game Night” and continues immediately after the game with the “Tri-State Ford Knicks Postgame Show” and “Knicks Extra.”
