25 Years of Guests Have Included Ted Williams, Stan Musial, Oscar Robertson, Joe Frazier, Bobby Orr and Many More

New York, NY (January 4, 2013) – MSG Networks’ series “Halls of Fame” will kick off its 25th Anniversary season on Saturday, January 5 at 3:30 p.m. on MSG+ with a special interview featuring Ann Meyers-Drysdale, the Hall of Fame women’s basketball player and widow of Hall of Fame pitcher Don Drysdale. The Dodgers hurler was host Fran Healy’s first guest on the show in 1988.

The 30-minute, one-on-one interview show, which is the longest-running series on MSG Networks, has featured discussions with some of the greatest athletes ever, including Ted Williams, Stan Musial, Yogi Berra, Reggie Jackson, Tom Seaver, Nolan Ryan, Oscar Robertson, Bob Cousy, Gale Sayers, Joe Frazier, Mario Andretti, Bobby Orr and Gordie Howe, to name a handful of the nearly 300 guests Healy has sat across from over the years.

“It’s always been fascinating to hear about the athletes’ personal journeys and how they got their starts in their respective sports,” said Healy. “Each star athlete has a unique story, and it’s been a passion and pleasure of mine for 25 years to bring these stories to fans.”

“I interviewed Hall of Famer Eddie Mathews, who was a notorious pull hitter. His mother used to pitch him batting practice and his dad used to shag balls in left field. His dad told him: ‘Eddie, you better pull the ball or you’ll hit one right in mom’s ear.’”

“’Halls of Fame’ has featured the most celebrated athletes in the history of American sports, and MSG Networks is proud of this terrific milestone, both for the show, and it’s host, Fran Healy,” said Daniel Ronayne, executive vice president and general manager, MSG Networks.

Additional guests for the 25th Anniversary season include two more Hall of Famers, former NFL star Joe Namath and college basketball coaching legend John Thompson. Other guests for the 2013 season will be announced at a later date.

After playing professional baseball for more than a decade, Healy has spent over 30 years in sports broadcasting for MSG Networks. He served as an announcer for the New York Yankees from 1979 to 1983 and the New York Mets from 1984 until 2005. During that period he hosted a number of shows on MSG and MSG+, including "Mets Inside Pitch,” "Hot Stove Report" and "The Pennant Chase." In addition to “Halls of Fame,” Healy hosts two ongoing award-winning original programs on MSG Networks, “The Game 365” and “The Lineup.” He also hosted “Summer of ‘77” and “The Rise and Fall of the ’86 Mets,” both of which won New York Emmy Awards.
