    MSG Networks' Regular Season Hockey Ratings Up Across All Three Local Teams

    Rangers 1.65 Average Season Household Rating the Second Highest Ever on MSG and the Highest Since 1994-95

    Islanders 0.49 Average Season Household Rating the Highest Ever on MSG+

    Devils 0.47 Average Season Household Rating the Highest in Three Years

    New York, NY (April 30, 2013) – MSG Networks, New York’s home for hockey, saw an increase in its season-over-season hockey ratings across all three New York-area teams for the 2013 regular season, and scored the highest average regular season ratings for each team in at least three years.

    MSG’s New York Rangers telecasts averaged a 1.65 household rating for the 2013 regular season, up 67% compared to the 2011-12 regular season average (1.65 HH vs. 0.99 HH). The 2013 average household rating was the second-highest regular season Rangers rating ever on MSG, behind only the 1994-95 season (1.88 HH), which was also a shortened schedule (MSG Networks began tracking Rangers household ratings at the start of the 1988-89 season).

    On MSG+, New York Islanders telecasts averaged a 0.49 household rating this season, up 133% compared to the 2011-12 regular season average (0.49 HH vs. 0.21 HH), making 2013 the highest-rated Islanders season ever on MSG+ (MSG Networks began tracking Islanders household ratings at the start of the 1991-92 season).

    New Jersey Devils MSG+ telecasts averaged a 0.47 household rating in 2013, up 42% compared to the 2011-12 regular season average (0.47 HH vs. 0.33 HH). 2013 was the highest-rated Devils season on MSG+ since the 2009-10 regular season.

    MSG Networks kicks off its exclusive local coverage of the 2013 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs this week with Game 1 telecasts of the Islanders-Penguins series tomorrow night at 7:30 p.m. on MSG+ and the Rangers-Capitals series on Thursday, May 2 at 7:30 p.m. on MSG. MSG Networks will telecast six of the seven potential games in both series.
