New York Liberty to Honor Local Female Pioneers for "Inspiring Women Night" Presented by Hallmark Channel on Tuesday, July 27

Featuring Pre-Game Reception & Networking Event

NEW YORK, NY – July 20, 2010 – The New York Liberty will celebrate its annual “Inspiring Women Night” presented by Hallmark Channel on Tuesday, July 27 at Madison Square Garden by honoring women who lead critical efforts that empower women and inspire young girls. The Liberty will face off against the San Antonio Silver Stars that evening at 7:30 p.m.
 
“The Liberty takes pride in recognizing women who lead, inspire, and support women and young girls from all walks of life,” said team president and general manager Carol Blazejowski. “We are proud to partner with Hallmark Channel to honor these ladies who help cultivate our local community, and invite our fans to attend the pre-game reception and networking event to meet these amazing women.”
 
The 2010 Inspiring Women honorees are Darlene Aiken (Inner Beauty Solutions), Linda Altshuler (The Hadassah Foundation), Joan Amble (American Express), Analisa Balares (Womensphere), Linda Basch (National Council for Research on Women), Katie Goodspeed (Variety of New York), Susan Hall (Girls Quest), Chung-Wha Hong (New York Immigration Coalition), Martha Kamber (YWCA of Brooklyn), Heather Kristin (Girls Write Now), Jaclyn Libowitz (Girl Scouts of the USA), Christy Policy (Girls on the Run), Diesa Seidel (United Initiatives For Peace), Shawn Slevin (Swim Strong), Joanne Smith (Girls for Gender Equity), Glennda Testone (LGBT Center of New York), Mary Ann Wasil Nalin (The Get In Touch Foundation), Deborah Wichter Jackson (National Coalition of 100 Black Women – Bergen/Passaic Chapter) and Cheryle Willis (United Way NYC).
 
Before the game, the Liberty will host a reception and networking event featuring the evening's honorees and special guests Carol Blazejowski, WNBA president Donna Orender, WNBA COO Christine Godleski and Liberty legend Kym Hampton.
