June is Mets Month on "The Game 365"

New York – June 7, 2010 – This month, MSG Plus will feature two new episodes of “The Game 365” as host Fran Healy sits down with former Mets greats Gary Carter and Darryl Strawberry.

Tonight at 7:30pm – Gary Carter: World Series Champion and Hall of Famer Gary Carter has been a fixture on the professional baseball scene for nearly 40 years as a player, coach and manager. After a season with the Long Island Ducks, "The Kid" has returned to Florida to manage the Palm Beach Atlantic University baseball team and share a campus with his daughter Kimmy, the head softball coach.

Carter on stepping away from professional ball : “I really thought that one day…I envisioned myself managing the New York Mets, it didn’t materialize, I don’t know all of the reasons why, but obviously I needed to focus on something different.”

Carter referring to Strawberry and Gooden not reaching their full potential in baseball
: “I talked to them until I was blue in the face, and they were going to make their own choices. They say you make your bed, you have to sleep in it and that’s what they did.”

Monday, June 21 at 7:30pm – Darryl Strawberry: During his days in Major League Baseball, eight-time all-star Darryl Strawberry was one of the most feared players in the batter's box. Now, instead of fastballs, Darryl is staring down Autism with the help of his wife Tracy and the Darryl Strawberry Foundation.
