MSG Network to Launch "Knicks Night Live"
July 1 at Midnight

Hour-long Weekly Show, Live Breaking News Updates, Original Online Content, Mobile Alerts and More As the Knicks Take Center Stage This Summer on MSG

New York – June 11, 2010 – On the cusp of one of the most eagerly anticipated offseasons in New York Knicks history, MSG Network today announced the launch of a new show – “Knicks Night Live.” The program will debut with a special 30-minute live presentation late Wednesday night (Thursday, July 1 at 12:00 a.m.), the first minute of the NBA’s free-agency period. The show will come back live 18 hours later at 8:00 p.m. for one-hour, it’s regularly scheduled time and length on Thursday evenings throughout the summer.

“Knicks Night Live” will closely monitor the latest news and developments around the Knicks and the rest of the NBA, giving basketball fans inside access and expert analysis they can’t get anywhere else. In addition to the weekly show, MSG Network will provide live breaking news coverage and first reports throughout the summer, including free-agent signings, team press conferences, and player, coach and executive interviews.

“Knicks fans have been looking forward to this summer for a long time and we want to make sure they have all the news as it happens and the best analysis from our panel of experts,” said Dan Ronayne, executive vice president and general manager of MSG Networks. “The ‘Knicks Night Live’ franchise, with a weekly show and breaking news cut-ins, will be must-watch television for Knicks fans this summer.”

Hosted by Al Trautwig, “Knicks Night Live” will feature an all-star lineup of NBA experts and MSG talent including Mike Breen, Walt ‘Clyde’ Frazier, Tina Cervasio, Kelly Tripucka, Malik Rose and Bill Pidto, as well as special guest appearances all summer long.

“Knicks Night Live” will anchor “Knicks Thursdays,” part of MSG Network’s Summer Block Party. The Summer Block Party consists of themed programming blocks every night starting at 8:00 p.m. during the summer and includes “Classic Mondays,” “Countdown Tuesdays,” “Boxing Wednesdays,” “Music Fridays” and “Cinema Weekend.”

“Knicks Night Live” will also have a major online component at msg.com/knicks with a number of unique ways for fans to take part in the buzz this offseason. Through the site, fans can email questions to the show that will be read and answered live during the telecast. In addition, fans can play a new Twitter hashtag game, make predictions for what will be in the news the following week, participate in weekly polls, read blogs from expert contributors, and flip through free agent photo galleries. The site will also feature man-on-the-street interviews with fans around New York weighing in on the highly-anticipated Knicks offseason and other news from around the NBA.

“We have created a fully integrated platform for ‘Knicks Night Live,’ allowing our audiences to easily engage and interact with other fans, as well as our on-air talent, for an experience with the Knicks brand like never before,” said Scott Richman, senior vice president and general manager of MSG Interactive.
