"Battle of the Badges presented by Budweiser" Rescheduled for Friday, October 9th at Madison Square Garden

New York, NY, August 12, 2009 – The much anticipated "Battle of the Badges presented by Budweiser", originally set to return to the Mecca of Boxing, Madison Square Garden, on September 25th, has been rescheduled, and will now take place on Friday, October 9, 2009. For the 27th consecutive year, the NYPD will go head-to-head in the boxing ring with the FDNY. The combatants square off from the WaMu Theater at Madison Square Garden beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Tickets for the "Battle of the Badges presented by Budweiser", priced at $65.00, $50.00, and $30.00 are currently on sale and can be purchased at the Madison Square Garden Box Office, all Ticketmaster outlets or online at www.thegarden.com.

The rivalry between the badges began in 1982 with the all-time record currently knotted at 13 victories per department. The "Battle of the Badges presented by Budweiser" returns to Madison Square Garden for the first time since 1986 where the FDNY claimed victory on the evening.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the New York Firefighters Benevolent Association and the NYPD Fighting Finest.
