New York, NY, July 8, 2009 – MSG will telecast all five New York Knicks 2009 NBA Summer League games live from the Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas, Nevada. The first game is on Tuesday, July 14 at 6:00 p.m. against the Memphis Grizzlies. Knicks Summer League games on MSG are presented by Volvo.
These MSG telecasts represent the first time that Knicks fans will get a chance to see 2009 first round NBA Draft picks Jordan Hill and Toney Douglas in Knicks uniforms. The Knicks Summer League team will also include guard Joe Crawford and center Mouhamed Sene, who both signed with the Knicks as free agents during the final four weeks of last season, Patrick Ewing, Jr., as well as NBA veterans Alex Acker, Blake Ahearn, Morris Almond, Yaroslav Korolev, David Noel, and Nikoloz Tskitishvili.
Mike Breen will call the play-by-play for the first two games of Knicks Summer League on MSG, with Gus Johnson covering play-by-play for the remaining three games. Walt 'Clyde' Frazier will provide commentary for all five games, and Tina Cervasio will serve as sideline reporter for the telecasts. All of the games will air live on MSG, with two-hour replays later in the evening and the following morning.
New York Knicks basketball on MSG is directed by Howie Singer, produced by Spencer Julien, and Kevin Meininger serves as senior coordinating producer. Dan Ronayne is executive vice president and general manager for MSG Networks and Jeff Filippi is vice president of production.
