MSG Premieres Little League Baseball Tournament
Teams Announced for Mid-Atlantic and New England Regional Tournament
New York, NY, August 10, 2009 – MSG, in partnership with NESN, will telecast the Little League Baseball Mid-Atlantic and New England regional tournaments beginning on Wed., August 12. MSG will televise six games live from A. Bart Giamatti Field in Bristol, Connecticut. The Mid-Atlantic and New England Regions make up the Eastern Region, which is the largest little league baseball region in the nation.
MSG's John Giannone will call play-by-play for the games, alongside NESN's Dave Roberts who will serve as analyst. MSG's Tina Cervasio, a former NESN Red Sox reporter, will join them on the telecasts as a sideline reporter. Announcers will be featured on both MSG's and NESN's telecasts of the games.
The live schedule is listed below and features both semifinal games for the Mid-Atlantic and New England Regions. MSG will televise shortened "In 60" versions of the games on the evenings of the live telecasts. These tournaments ultimately determine each region's representative at the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
