MSG Network to Debut Weekly Program – "The Mike D'Antoni Show" Presented By Mercedes-Benz – on Friday, November 6th
New York, NY October 28, 2009 – MSG Network will debut "The Mike D'Antoni Show", presented by Mercedes-Benz, a half-hour weekly show detailing the inner-workings of Knicks Head Coach Mike D'Antoni, on November 6th at 7:00 p.m. prior to the Knicks/Cavaliers game, it was announced today by MSG's executive vice president-general manager Dan Ronayne. "The Mike D'Antoni Show" will also be re-telecast later that evening after the Knicks Post-Game show at 11:00 p.m.
The always candid Knicks coach will give fans a glimpse into the team every week, with exclusive behind-the-scenes access that will make "The Mike D'Antoni Show" a must watch for Knicks fans.
"This is a great opportunity for us to show our great fans just how hard we work to prepare for the NBA season," said D'Antoni. "Knicks fans are the most passionate and educated in the league and MSG's viewers deserve to get an inside look at the team."
"This show will give fans unprecedented access into Coach D'Antoni's world and will be unlike any other coach's show," said Dan Ronayne, executive vice president and general manager, MSG Networks. "Coach D'Antoni has a big personality that will translate very well into a weekly show."
Knicks play-by-play announcer, Mike Breen, will serve as co-host with Coach D'Antoni, while other segments will take fans into the locker room, film sessions or coaches meetings. Other segments on the show include:
- In The Paint: Breen and D'Antoni discuss "hot" topics around the NBA.
- Mik'd: D'Antoni will wear a microphone during practice, on the bench, or during a game, and dissect the segment with Breen.
- D-mail: Fans can email their questions to the Knicks Head Coach at MSG.com.
- Parting Shot: D'Antoni takes a parting shot every week as the clock ticks off the final seconds to the show.
"The Mike D'Antoni Show" will be telecast before, and after Knicks games on Friday evenings throughout the season, and will be repeated Saturday mornings at 10:30am and Sunday evenings at 6pm on MSG Network. Also, fans can follow the show online at http://www.msg.com/coachd.
