MSG Celebrates the Yankees World Series Victory With a Tradition Marathon
Shows Honoring the Team's History on Sunday, November 8th Beginning at 2:30 p.m.
New York, NY, November 5, 2009 – To celebrate the Yankees World Series victory, MSG Network is airing a marathon line-up of programming to honor the team's storied tradition this Sunday, November 8, culminating with the original presentation of "Summer of '77," an hour-long program filled with first-hand accounts from the players that made up one of the greatest teams in New York sports history.
The new show, which begins at 8:00 p.m., will air interviews with Yankee greats Reggie Jackson, Chris Chambliss, Ron Guidry and Willie Randolph, just to name a few.
Also included are interviews from celebrities such as John Leguizamo, Spike Lee, John Turturro and Steve Schirripa who help vividly depict not only the fall's World Series glory, but a tumultuous summer in a city that witnessed horrifying crimes and a crippling blackout.
Leading off the day at 2:30 p.m. will be hours of programming dedicated to Yankee history, beginning with two episodes of the half-hour show "Halls of Fame," followed by nine episodes of "The Game 365," that highlight pinstripe players such as Yogi Berra, Bucky Dent, Sparky Lyle and others.
"The Game 365," is hosted by former New York Yankee and veteran television personality Fran Healy.
