To enter the 2008 Knicks Ticket Giveaway Sweepstakes, you must agree to and abide by these Official Rules.
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.
1. Sweepstakes Period:
Sweepstakes begins on 9:30 AM Eastern Time (ET) on Friday, October 17, 2008 and ends at 1:00PM ET on Thursday, October 30, 2008 ("Sweepstakes Period").
2. Sponsor:
Madison Square Garden, L.P.
3. Eligibility:
Sweepstakes open to legal US residents, 18 years of age or older at the time of entry, who live within a 75-mile radius of Madison Square Garden. Employees, Directors and the immediate family and/or household members of those employed by, or who are Directors of, Madison Square Garden, L.P., the New York Knicks, the National Basketball Association and its Member Teams, NBA Properties Inc. (collectively, "NBA Entities"), their respective parent corporations, affiliates, subsidiaries, franchisees, their respective advertising and promotion agencies are ineligible to participate. The term "immediate family" shall mean spouses, parents, siblings, children, grandparents and grandchildren.
4. How to Enter:
Via Online: Go to www.msg.com/sweepstakes/knickstickets during the Sweepstakes Period and submit your full name, mailing address, age, email address and daytime and evening phone numbers.
Via Postal Mail: Print your full name, address, city, state, zip code, e-mail address (if any), age and daytime and nighttime phone numbers on a 3 x 5 index card and mail to New York Knicks/2008 Ticket Giveaway, 2 Penn Plaza, 14th Floor, New York NY 10121. All entries must be received by October 27, 2008. Each entry must be separately mailed.
Limit one (1) entry per person regardless of method of entry. If more than one entry is submitted by any person, only the first entry received will be eligible. Winners will be determined in a random drawing from all eligible entries received. All entry forms become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned. Sponsor may share all entry forms and other data collected in connection with this Sweepstakes as it determines in its discretion. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, ineligible, damaged or misdirected entries or any typographical or other errors in the printing of the offer, administration of the Sweepstakes or in the announcement of the prizes. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel or modify the Sweepstakes, or prevent an entrant from participating if fraud or other failure destroys the integrity of the Sweepstakes. Sponsor does not assume any responsibility for incorrect or inaccurate capture of entry information, technical malfunctions, human or technical error, mail delay, seeding or printing errors, lost/delayed/garbled data or transmissions, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, or failures of any telephone or computer line or network, computer equipment, software or any combination thereof. Entry materials that have been tampered with or altered are void. If, in Sponsor’s opinion, this Sweepstakes is compromised or becomes corrupted in any way, electronically or otherwise, the Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, terminate, or suspend the Sweepstakes and, in such event, to select the winners by randomly drawing from among all valid entries received, up to such time of cancellation, termination, or suspension, or solely from the mailed entries.
5. Selection of Winners:
On or about October 31, 2008, winners will be selected by Sponsor in a random drawing from and among all eligible entries received ("Potential Winner"). Potential Winners will be notified by Sponsor via telephone on or about November 1, 2008. If Potential Winner is unreachable or does not make direct contact with Sponsor by the date specified in the notification, or fails to accept the prize, the Potential Winner will forfeit the prize in its entirety and an alternate Potential Winner will be selected from the remaining eligible entries. Odds of winning depend upon the number of eligible entries received. Sponsor’s decisions on the selection of winners, and all matters relating to this Sweepstakes, shall be final.
6. Prizes:
First Prize (12) – Each First Prize winner will receive two (2) mezzanine-level tickets to an upcoming NY Knicks home game during the month of November, 2008 (Approximate Retail Value (ARV) of each ticket: $40). (Game and seat locations to be determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Tickets subject to availability.)

7. Prize Conditions:
Official Winners are solely responsible for any expenses, including transportation to and from Madison Square Garden, food and beverages and any other costs not expressly described as part of the prize they have been selected to receive. Prizes cannot be transferred, substituted, assigned, or redeemed for cash, except at Sponsor’s sole discretion. In the event of prize unavailability, any prize or any portion of any prize may be substituted for one of equal or greater value, in Sponsor’s sole discretion. Winner will be required to return to Sponsor a completed and notarized Affidavit of Eligibility and Waiver/Release within forty-eight (48) hours of receipt of such Affidavit and Release, which will be sent to the selected winner on or about the date the selected winner is notified, or an alternate winner may be selected. If any of the foregoing documents are not completed, signed, and returned within the respective stated time, or if an entrant is found to be ineligible, or if he/she does not comply with these Official Rules, then the potential winner will be disqualified and an alternate winner will be selected from the remaining eligible entries, time permitting. All federal, state and local taxes, if any, will be the sole responsibility of winners.
8. Liability:
By entry into the Sweepstakes, each entrant agrees to these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor, which shall be final in all respects. By entry into the Sweepstakes, each entrant agrees that the New York Knicks, Madison Square Garden, L.P, the NBA Entities and each of their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, officers, directors, shareholders, agents, employees and all others associated with the development and execution of this Sweepstakes shall not be liable for (i) injury, loss or damage of any kind resulting from participation in this Sweepstakes or from the acceptance or use of any prize awarded; or (ii) any failure of the event to occur or a performer to appear (in which case, Sponsor may, at its sole discretion, substitute the prize). Except where prohibited by law, by participating in this Sweepstakes, winners consent to the use of their name, photo, video image, biographical data and/or likeness for advertising, trade, and promotional purposes by Sponsor as determined in Sponsor’s discretion without additional compensation in all media now known or hereafter discovered, worldwide without notice, review, or approval unless otherwise prohibited by law, and upon request agrees to provide consent in writing to such use.
9. Sweepstakes Conditions:
This Sweepstakes is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws. By participating, entrants waive any right to claim ambiguity in the Sweepstakes or these Official Rules. By providing your e-mail address you consent to being contacted by e-mail by Sponsor, the Knicks and their affiliate companies. WINNERS AND ENTRANTS RELEASE, DISCHARGE, AND AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS, THE KNICKS, MADISON SQUARE GARDEN, L.P., THE NBA ENTITIES, AND THEIR RESPECTIVE DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, PARENTS, SUBSIDIARIES, AFFILIATES, AGENTS AND REPRESENTATIVES FROM AND AGAINST ANY LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGES, INJURY OR LOSSES, TO ANY PERSON (INCLUDING DEATH), OR PROPERTY, OF ANY KIND RESULTING IN WHOLE OR IN PART, DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY FROM ACCEPTANCE, POSSESSION, MISUSE OR USE OF ANY PRIZE OR PARTICIPATION IN ANY SWEEPSTAKES RELATED ACTIVITY OR PARTICIPATION IN THIS SWEEPSTAKES.
10. Claims/Choice of Law:
(a) Any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this Sweepstakes but in no event attorneys fees; and (b) under no circumstances will entrant be permitted to obtain awards for, and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental and consequential damages and any other damages, other than actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and hereby waives all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of entrant, or Sponsor in connection with the Sweepstakes, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of New York, without regard for conflicts of law doctrine, and all proceedings shall take place in that State. All contestants who enter the Sweepstakes agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the State of New York and agree to waive the right to a jury trial with respect to any claim or dispute with regard to any aspect of the Sweepstakes or Sweepstakes Rules.
11. Winners List:
For the names of the winners, send a self addressed stamped envelope to: New York Knicks, Attn: 2008 Knicks Ticket Giveaway Sweepstakes Winners List, 2 Pennsylvania Plaza, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10121 by April 21, 2009.
