Kurt Thomas Plays the Hero in Skid-Stopping Win

In a game which turned out to be his last, Kurt Thomas put in a big, clutch performance on March 18. Thomas wasn’t even sure he was going to play before the game due to a nagging foot injury, but the 40-year-old vet turned out to be the spark the Knicks needed. With Tyson Chandler, Carmelo Anthony and Amar’e Stoudemire out of the lineup, Thomas scored six points, had three rebounds and three huge block shots in 27 gutsy minutes to fuel the Knicks to a 90-83 victory over the Jazz, which ended New York’s four-game losing streak.
