    MSG Rolls Out The Blue Carpet For Rangers First Playoff Game

    “Chase Presents Rangers Blue Carpet” Special Set to Open MSG’s Coverage at 6:00 p.m. Thursday


    Featuring Interviews with Celebrity Rangers Fans, Including;Edie Falco, Susan Lucci, Joel McHale, SI Swimsuit Model Genevieve Morton, Former and Current Knicks John Starks, Larry Johnson, Baron Davis and Jared Jefferies, and Mets Pitcher Jonathan Niese


    New York, NY (April 11, 2012) – MSG will kick off its coverage of the Rangers in the first round of the NHL Playoffs by rolling out the Blue Carpet tomorrow night for a live 30-minute pregame special outside of Madison Square Garden. “Chase Presents Rangers Blue Carpet” will begin at 6:00 p.m. and lead into “Nissan Rangers Game Night” at 6:30 p.m. The Rangers face the Senators in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals at 7:00 p.m. on MSG.  MSG has exclusive coverage in the New York region of all New York Rangers games in the first round of the NHL Playoffs.


    MSG’s Jill Martin and John Giannone will report from the Blue Carpet and interview celebrity Rangers fans as they enter “The World’s Most Famous Arena.” Scheduled guests include current and former Knicks Baron Davis, Jared Jefferies, Larry Johnson and John Starks; current and former Mets including Jonathan Niese and John Franco; SI Swimsuit Model Genevieve Morton;  Susan Lucci, Joel McHale, Edie Falco, Kelly Bensimon, Dr. Mehmet Oz, Matthew Modine, Darryl (DMC) McDaniels; and model Alejandra Cata. The show will be hosted by Bill Pidto and Ron Duguay from the Geico MSG Studios across 7th Avenue from Madison Square Garden.


    Al Trautwig and Mike Keenan will join Duguay at 6:30 p.m. for the pregame show to bring fans up-to-date on the latest news before Game 1. The hour-long “Mercedes Postgame Show,” featuring the same trio, will immediately follow the conclusion of the game.


    Starting at 2:00 p.m. tomorrow and every first round game day, Pidto and Duguay will host live, one-minute updates twice-an-hour from the Geico MSG Studios, giving fans the latest information from the Rangers and around the NHL.


    MSG Networks’ comprehensive hockey show, “HOCKEY NIGHT LIVE,” will continue through the playoffs every Saturday night, offering fans the latest playoffs news and updates. Trautwig will host each show and will be joined by analysts Ken Daneyko, Dave Maloney, Billy Jaffe and Stan Fischler.
