Dave Maloney

Rangers Radio Analyst

Since the 2005-2006 NHL season Dave Maloney, a former New York Rangers defenseman, has been working in the NY Rangers radio booth as a color analyst. Maloney works alongside longtime play-by-play broadcaster, Kenny Albert. Maloney also contributes his hockey expertise with appearances on "MSG Hockey Night Live" and MSG???s nightly sports and entertainment program "MSG, NY."

While still playing defense for the Rangers, Maloney officially began his broadcasting career in 1984. He joined the Rangers broadcasting crew for a few appearances as an analyst while injured that season.

Following the 1984-1985 NHL season Maloney officially traded in his skates for the microphone and landed several broadcasting jobs. He made several stops along the way including stints with CTV in Canada, the Minnesota North Stars, MSG Plus (formerly FSNY) and MSG during New York Rangers coverage on several occasions. Dave has also served as a Rangers analyst on WFAN radio in New York.

Maloney spent 11 seasons in the NHL and all but 52 games of that tenure with the New York Rangers. Beginning in 1978, Maloney had the distinguished honor as serving as the 17th captain in Rangers history. Additionally, Maloney ??? at the age of 18 - became the youngest player in Rangers history when he played his first game on December 18, 1974. Over the course of his NHL career Maloney amassed 71 goals, and had 246 assists for 371 total points.

Maloney currently lives in Old Greenwich, Connecticut and has three children.
