High School Sports Reporter

Gene Golda has been an integral part of MSG's High School sports team since he joined the network in 1994. Currently Golda serves as a color commentator for High School girl's basketball on the network, is a feature reporter and associate director for "New Balance High School Weekly presented by Max Preps," does shifts as an associate director for "MSG, NY" and New York Knicks and Rangers pre and post game shows, and Golda has served as an on-air sideline reporter for every PSAL event and football All-Star game since 1998. Golda began his career as an intern at MSG in 1994. Over the course of the next three years he became a production assistant for "SportsDesk," High School Programming, and Broadcast Operations, where he was in charge of organizing all the non-MSG produced programming for air. In 1997, Golda took on the role of associate director at MSG. His duties expanded to cutting tape for "SportsDesk" and he took on the new role of feature reporter and associate director of "High School Weekly." In 1998, Golda served as a sideline reporter for the network's High School events and in the same year won a New York Emmy award as part of the production of "Boomer Esiason's Empire Challenge Football Game."

Other roles Golda has held during his time at MSG include, producing features for the Yankees pre-game shows, producing an hour special on the Rangers Dream Week, and serving as update anchor for "The Talk of Our Town." Golda is also the author of the only tri-state girl's basketball poll in the metropolitan area.

During his time at MSG, Golda has also worked at TKR Cable, Comcast, WNYC-TV, CBS Sports and ESPU as a reporter.

Golda is a graduate of Kean College and currently resides in Edison, New Jersey with his wife Jamie.
