High School & College Sports Reporter

Jimmy Cavallo has served as a key member of the high school, and more recently college and professional sports reporting and production teams since joining MSG in 1991. Currently he calls play-by-play for the "Pontiac High School LAX Game of the Week," is an analyst for the high school football and basketball "Snapple High School Game of Week," and a co-host for both the "Aéropostale College Basketball Weekly" and "Rutgers Weekly." In addition, Cavallo contributes feature stories on tri-state area athletes to "MSG, NY," "MSG LAX Report powered by SportsGist.com" and "Inside the Knicks." You can also find Cavallo discussing local high school sports via his video blog featured on MSG.com.

Viewers may also recognize Cavallo from his appearances alongside Walt "Clyde" Frazier and other top-name athletes in the commercials for "Snapple High School Game of the Week." In 2006 Cavallo was nominated for a New York Emmy for the promo for the "Snapple High School Game of the Week," the same year he was awarded a prestigious Promax Award for the same promo in the on-air sales promotion category.

Since joining the network Cavallo has served in various capacities, both in front of and behind the camera. He started off at the network as a production assistant and still today produces all the feature stories that he reports. Cavallo made the transition to in front of the camera in 2002 and has since co-hosted the show "Talk of Our Town," and served as a contributor to "SportsDesk" and "NYK Way." Previously, Jimmy was also a contributor to ESPN.

Cavallo is a native of Rockland County and a Villanova graduate. Jimmy and his wife, Lisa, have three girls and reside in West Nyack.
