Rangers and Knicks Radio Play-By-Play

One of the most versatile sports broadcasters in the country, Kenny Albert has become a fixture in the New York Rangers radio booth calling the play-by-play action since 1995. Albert, who has called all four major sports during his professional career, has described the action for over 1,000 professional hockey games over the last two decades. Additionally, Albert is a contributor to MSG.com where you can find him frequently blogging on the Rangers.

Albert has also been an announcer for FOX Sports since 1994. He was named one of the network's original NFL play-by-play broadcasters when FOX acquired the rights to the National Football Conference in 1994. He has also been calling Major League Baseball on various FOX networks for over a decade including the last seven seasons on the Saturday Game of the Week.

Since joining MSG in 1995, Albert has served a variety of roles. Aside from handling the Rangers' radio duties - as well as working selected games on the television side - Albert has called Knicks summer league basketball, Liberty basketball, as well as numerous high school and college basketball games for MSG.

Prior to joining MSG in the Rangers radio booth, Albert called the play-by-play for many hockey games, including his first NHL game on December 2, 1989 (NY Islanders at Winnipeg) at the age of 21. Before joining the Rangers in 1995 he spent two seasons as the voice of the American Hockey League's Baltimore Skipjacks (1990-92), he called television play-by-play for the Washington Capitals for three seasons (1992-95) on Home Team Sports, where he also filled in on Washington Bullets and Baltimore Orioles telecasts. Albert called the Rangers-Vancouver Stanley Cup Final series for NHL Radio in 1994, as well as the Devils-Red Wings Cup series in 1995. He has also called NHL games on ESPN2 (1993-94) and OLN (2005-06).

During the 2002 Winter Olympic Games, Albert and Joe Micheletti called 23 hockey games in 13 days for NBC, including the men's quarterfinal matchup between Russia and the Czech Republic, and the women's gold medal game featuring the USA and Canada. Albert returned to NBC for the 2006 Winter Games in Turin, Italy, calling 17 men's and women's contests.

Albert also called five seasons of the NHL on FOX (1995-99), and hosted the NTRA on FOX thoroughbred horse racing series in 1999 and 2000. He also called play-by-play at the Sugar Bowl (LSU vs. Notre Dame) in January 2007.

Albert graduated from New York University in 1990. He lives in New Jersey with wife Barbara, and daughters Amanda and Sydney.
