Ron Duguay

Hockey Analyst

Ron Duguay joined MSG in 2007 and currently serves as a hockey analyst for the New York Rangers. Duguay can also be seen as a regular guest on MSG's comprehensive weekly hockey show "Hockey Night Live."

Aside from his responsibilities with MSG, Duguay also co-hosts the "Ice Breakers" radio show with former New Jersey Devil, Ken Daneyko on Sirius-XM Satellite Radio.

After a four-year junior career with his hometown Sudbury Wolves, Duguay was selected by the New York Rangers in the first-round of the 1977 NHL Amateur Draft and quickly made an impression by scoring 20 goals in his rookie year. In 1981, Duguay was named to Team Canada for the Canada Cup tournament. Following his return in 1982, Duguay recorded a career-high 40 goals and was selected to play in the NHL All-Star Game. The next season he was traded to Detroit and subsequently had his best offensive year during the '84-'85 season, when he scored 38 goals and 89 points.

The following season, Duguay was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins before returning to the Rangers in 1986 for another 82 games with the team. He finished his NHL career with the Los Angeles Kings in 1989, retiring after 12 years in the NHL.

In the years that followed, Duguay divided his time between coaching a minor-league hockey team, the Jacksonville Barracudas, and working for the Rangers front office in community and corporate relations.

Duguay still enjoys lacing up his skates every chance he gets, and in 2009 he became the second oldest hockey player to play in a professional game. At 51, he participated in two Eastern Professional Hockey League games to benefit MSG's Garden of Dreams Foundation, which aids kids in crisis in the tri-state area.

Duguay and his wife Kim have five children and currently live in Wayne, New Jersey. Along with the numerous charities Duguay contributes his time to, he also currently produces his own charity hockey events.
