Idan Raichel: Piano Songs is coming to the Beacon Theatre on Feb. 21, 2018.
International musician Idan Raichel, well known and loved as the band leader of the Idan Raichel Project over the last 12 years, is taking a bold new move by returning to the audience solo. Inspired by the likes of Caetano Veloso, Dave Matthews and Prince, Idan says that this comes very natural to him and that he is excited to share the new experience with the world’s stages live in 2017.
Solo on stage, Idan will play acoustic piano, electric piano, percussion, drum pad and looper; and even some toys his two young daughters picked out, which he’ll use to create sound in honor and celebration of his fairly new status as a father.
After his latest stint of 30 sold-out piano concerts, Idan has decided to take this time and moment in his career to dedicate himself to the solo performance.
In these concerts, Idan will share in an organic and intimate way his journey of the last 12 years and how his melodies and songs were written before being produced for the numerous collaborations and concerts around the globe. He will also present songs from his entire career, including his latest album “At The Edge Of The Beginning.”
Idan Raichel has recently been honored by the Martin Luther King Institute for bringing the voices of the minorities and new migrants to the mainstream and for his effortless work in uniting people from different backgrounds, beliefs and cultures through music.
