Walmart Community Playmakers
Walmart Community Playmakers is an ongoing program simply about giving thanks by recognizing those members of our community who are dedicated to improving the lives of others while being a force for good. We salute all of our local heroes for their selfless contributions and tireless efforts day in and day out.

A true local hero, Doris has been volunteering in the Los Angeles community for over 30 years. She runs her own non-profit, Doris Cares, which is committed to feeding families, homeless, at risk teens, veterans and the elderly on a daily basis. As part of her prize, Doris attended the Eric Clapton show and got to meet Jimmie Vaughan while on a backstage tour.
A true local hero, Sasha founded @loveleorescue, a non-profit animal rescue based in Los Angeles, that provides forgotten dogs with the proper medical attention they need. As part of her prize, Sasha attended the U2 show and was able to enjoy a fun filled evening with her girlfriends.
A true local hero, Maria has worked tirelessly in the community raising awareness around autism.
A true local hero, Yuri brings countless smiles to adults who are battling cancer, the homeless and ill young children by dressing up as a future superhero. As part of his prize, Yuri attended the Kendrick Lamar show and got to enjoy our famous Red Wall while on a backstage tour.
A true local hero, Rupa saved a man’s life on the 60 freeway when he suddenly went into cardiac arrest. As part of her prize, Rupa attended the U2 show and got to see all of our signed canvases from past artists while on a backstage tour.
A true local hero, Dion continuously gives back to the community including purchasing prom gowns for disadvantaged foster girls and sponsoring fashion shows for underprivileged girls that focus on true inner beauty vs. outer beauty. Being once homeless himself, he is determined to change the course and future of those less fortunate. As part of his prize, Dion attended the U2 show and was beyond excited to see his own face on our marquee.
A true local hero, Gidion has been volunteering in Haiti for over 8 years and is determined to help end the orphanage system by reuniting kids with their biological families. As part of her prize, Gidion attended a Cirque du Soleil show and was treated like the VIP she is with her very own commemorative trophy, photo op and backstage tour.
